Grading and dirt work decides whether a property works after the machines leave. Cleared ground with no fall holds water. A pad that was never shaped settles under the slab. A drive cut without a crown washes out in the first hard rain. Clearview Contracting Solutions does the dirt work across Milton, Pace, Pensacola and across Northwest Florida. That means rough grading, finish grading, house and shop pads, fill placed and leveled, and yards reshaped to drain.
The work runs on skid steers and mini excavators. That size of machine fits a residential lot or small acreage, moves real dirt, and gets through a standard gate. The company's machinery background runs back through full-size excavators and dozers on bigger jobs, twenty-plus years of it, before the deliberate move to this scale. The digging side of the trade, trenches, roots and drainage lines, lives on our excavation page. This page is about the shape of the ground.

Most of our ground is sand, and sand has rules. Under Milton and Pensacola it is Lakeland sand, which drains fast and moves the moment water runs across it. Around Pace it is Troup loamy sand. Up around Jay the Red Bay sandy loam holds a shape better. Down in Navarre the Leon sand sits close to wet all summer, with the water table only inches down in a rainy season. A grade that is right for one of those is wrong for another.
Summer here brings afternoon storms that drop inches in an hour, and hurricane season runs June through November. A bare graded surface has to carry that water off the first time, because sand cuts a channel in one storm and keeps cutting. So grading on sand is drainage work first. Fall gets set away from the house. Swales go where the water wants to run. Cover goes back on anything that will not be built on right away.
A house pad starts below the surface. The Florida Building Code wants stumps and roots out within a foot of a foundation. Fill under a slab has to be free of vegetation and debris. Footings sit on undisturbed soil or engineered fill. Sand or gravel fill under a slab is capped at two feet unless an engineer approves more. Our part is the ground: the footprint cleared and grubbed, roots grappled out, fill placed in lifts, and the pad shaped to rough grade. Compaction testing and pad certification belong to your builder's engineer, and we set the site up so that work can start.
Septic ground has its own rules under Chapter 62-6. Fill in a drainfield area has to be free of roots, and it either settles for six months or gets compacted. Nothing drives over the drainfield and no trees go back on it. We shape that part of the lot with the drainfield in mind. When a lot looks like it will fight the septic plan, we say so at the estimate. Old stumps in a pad area get ground out below grade before any fill goes down.
Plenty of dirt work is repair. The back corner that stays wet into June. The gravel drive that washes into the road every storm. The ditch along the property line that grew shut ten years ago and quit carrying water. These are grading problems, and most fix in a day or two of reshaping. Fill goes where the ground sank. Fall gets cut toward the ditch. The drive gets its crown back so water leaves it. Where the drive meets the county road, that work pairs with our culvert and driveway installation.
We grade across Santa Rosa, Escambia and Okaloosa Counties: Milton, Pace, Pensacola, Cantonment, Jay, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Crestview and Fort Walton Beach. The north Okaloosa clay changes the job, and that end of the range has its own page for site prep work in Crestview. Send the address and tell us what the ground needs to do, and we come look at it free. The estimate comes with a real timeline.

Overgrown fields, pastures and lots cut back down — heavy rotary mowing for the growth a lawn mower won't touch and a mulcher is overkill for.

Stumps ground down below grade — single backyard stumps or every stump on a cleared lot. Mow over it, build over it, or plant grass where it stood.
